Gualberto Escudero was among the first graduates from the Malibu campus.1 After spending a single term in Malibu, Escudero and three classmates were the only Malibu representatives at Pepperdine's fall graduation ceremony in December 1972.2
In 1978, Escudero was named coach of Pepperdine's women's tennis team, a position he held for some 30 years.
